Northern Brown Ale (full grain recipe)

This fairly light-bodied and slightly dry northern brown ale is one of the more easy-drinking English styles with the English noble hops giving it a smooth, refined character.

Recipe Characteristics

Mash at 67°C for 60 minutes or until saccharification is complete. Sparge to 27L of green wort. Boil for 1 hour and 10 mins. Add the Fuggles hop pellets 10 minutes into the boil (i.e. boil this addition for 60 minutes). Add the East Kent Goldings and the Irish Moss 10 minutes before the end of the boil. Chill and transfer 25L to the fermenter, pitch yeast, and ferment as usual.
